Private visit to Pep Llambias’ studio
07:00 PM Accompanied by the artist himself and by the art critic and exhibition curator Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta, we will explore the work of Pep Llambias (Alaró, 1954) from the most intimate setting of his creation: his art studio. Undoubtedly one of the most outstanding Majorcan artists of his generation, with a long and brilliant career, he is currently represented by the Xavier Fiol Gallery, the Studio Trisorio in Naples, the Fox Jensen McCrory Gallery (Sydney) and the Jensen McCrory Gallery in New Zealand.
His studio is located in the village of Alaró, in a former shoe factory, where he spends endless hours turning words into images, whether with pieces of wood, aluminium, mobiles or installations. At first sight, his work is direct and pragmatic. However, a closer reading reveals personal experiences and reflections, where aesthetics and poetry become incredibly important. Ingenious and beautiful conceptual games, in which intelligence, sensitivity and irony force us to stare at what often goes unnoticed.
… and for gastronomy
Dinner with an unprecedented menu at Ses Coves
09:00 PM Ses Coves is a restaurant that is bound to become one of the gastronomic surprises of the year, both for the quality of its produce (be it from the sea or the land) and for its surprising grill, handled with wisdom and creativity by young chef Josep Joan Segura Siquier. He uses it instinctively —he has fire in his hands— revealing he has also thoroughly studied renowned chefs such as Bittor Arguinzoniz, chef of the acclaimed Etxebarri steakhouse.
Apart from the quality of its food, the restaurant is located in an incredibly charming setting: Ses Coves de Campanet is the perfect place to spend a wonderful summer evening with Séptimo Cielo. For this occasion, Ses Coves has prepared a novel menu that includes two first ever-cooked dishes.
