The setting for the first Séptimo Cielo event will be Majorca, an island that offers multiple food and contemporary art pairing opportunities.

Our gastronomic and cultural weekend in Majorca will take place between 29 April and 1 May. It will begin with a private tour of Galería Pelaires, the longest-running contemporary art gallery in Spain (established in 1969). Together with its director Frederic Pinya and our art critic Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta, we will learn about its history and delve into its latest project. After the visit, chef Tomeu Arbona will cook us dinner in the courtyard of the Gallery (located in a former convent in the historic centre of the city), offering a menu expressly elaborated for the occasion. There is no doubt that his food, which focuses on the recovery and enhancement of Majorcan recipes, makes him one of the greatest names of the local culinary scene.

On Saturday 30 June, artist Guillermo Rubí will open the doors of his studio in Muro. We will get to know his work and projects, again with Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta, who will join us in all the cultural events scheduled for the weekend. Afterwards, we will go to Son Jaumell, where chef Andreu Genestra will be waiting for us with a special menu that will be served in a holm oak grove inside the estate.

The first activity on Sunday will be a visit to Bernardí Roig’s studio in Binnissalem. He is one of Spain’s most internationally renowned artists. Roig’s work focuses on drawing, although his sculptures and paintings (often with cinematographic references) are also famous.

We will finish the Séptimo Cielo tour in Majorca with a meal prepared by Santi Taura, namely in his private holm oak grove in Fornalutx. The chef will surprise us with an informal proposal with grilled local produce. Savouring Santi Taura’s Majorca-inspired cuisine is undoubtedly one of the must-do things on the island, both for the traditional origin and for the unique signature touch of his dishes.

The Séptimo Cielo experiences will always be carried out in compliance with the current health protocol and with small groups (the number of spots available each weekend is very limited). The price of our getaways includes all the scheduled activities, but not the travelling expenses to Majorca/Minorca or accommodation. However, we have hotels arranged for our clients on both islands.

Sant Francesc Hotel is our hotel recommendation for Majorca.
